Take shallots ,ginger ,garlic and green chilly..smash them and keep aside .
Marinate chicken and keep aside for minimum half an hour .
Heat oil in a deep bottomed pot and fry the marinated chicken until 3/4 done. Keep fried chicken aside.
Heat 3tbsp of coconut oil and add mustard seeds. After they splutter fry the coconut pieces .
Then add the crushed shallot ginger garlic green chilly mix and saute well .
Add the sliced onion,curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and saute well until mix turns brown .
Now add chilly powder ,turmeric powder, garam masala powder and pepper powder one by one. Saute till raw smell is gone.
Now add tomato to the masala and cook well.
When you see the oil seperate from the masala, its time to add the fried chicken.
Mix the fried chicken with masala and add water as required. .
Cover the pot and cook the chicken in a low flame untill the chicken becomes soft.
You can open the pot and allow the gravy to become semi thick.
Decorate as required.
